Key points from this story:

• Mocks $5 million banana art sale
• Apple screwed to recycled board
• Symbolizes national economic deficit
• Satirizes contemporary art world
• Offers artwork for $2.5 million
• Ate the apple afterwards

In light of Sotheby's auction house recently selling a banana duct taped to a sheet of drywall for 5 million dollars because it supposedly redefined the boundaries of contemporary art. Behold! I give you an ambrosia apple screwed to a piece of recycled OSB board. The old rusty screw symbolizes paying off the combined provincial and federal deficit, when last I checked, was running around 2.28 trillion dollars. The large bite from the apple symbolizes the sizable chunk of your paycheque required to pay the interest on that deficit! The recycled OSB board represents the terrible state of our national forests which need to be preserved and protected, and our need to protect the environment by reusing and recycling! This a fine example of contemporary conceptual art that resets the boundaries of absurdity! However so does paying 5 million dollars for a banana and a slice of duct tape! But I am not greedy i will let this fine piece go for a mere 2.5 million, half the cost of the banana! And yes I ate the apple after!
