Key Points:

  • Rudbeckia blooms from mid-summer to fall.
  • 'Cappuccino' Rudbeckia has amber ochre petals.
  • Morden chrysanthemums bloom from mid-August.
  • Asters thrive in full sun, well-drained soil.
  • Sedum 'Autumn Joy' blooms reddish-pink in fall.
  • Joe Pye weed attracts butterflies, adds fall color.

It only takes a little bit of planning for our herbaceous borders to continue the fabulous colours enjoyed during the growing season. This is unfortunate as there are many choices that can make your garden colourful late into the fall.
