Discharge Firearm with Intent
On April 30 at approximately 1:30am, Battlefords RCMP were called to a business on the 900 block of the Highway 16 bypass for a call of shots fired. When RCMP arrived there was no one located. RCMP interviewed witnesses and reviewed video footage. RCMP were able to determine that 2 females walked up to the window of a parked white truck at the business. There was a verbal exchange between the females and the occupants of the white truck. A firearm was discharged and the white truck backed up at a high rate of speed, damaging property at the business. The females subsequently fled the area and the truck drove off to Railway Avenue and headed to the east. RCMP were not able to determine if anyone was injured.
RCMP are looking for the assistance of the public in locating and identifying the female in the attached pictures.
RCMP are also asking for the assistance of the public in locating the attached vehicle. The vehicle is described as a white Chevrolet Silverado truck with Saskatchewan Licence plate 721-LJK.
The investigation is ongoing and the public is encouraged to call the Battlefords Detachment or Crimestoppers with information.
Discharge Firearm complaint ends in the arrest of several suspects
On April 28, 2020, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of shots fired at a local hotel located on the 1000 block of the Highway 16 bypass.
RCMP attended and did not locate any suspects on scene. Officers reviewed surveillance footage and determined that an occupant in a silver coloured car fired several shots toward a white coloured SUV. Officers made patrols but did not locate either vehicle.
At approximately 4:00 a.m., RCMP were called to a stabbing at a gas station on the 900 block of the Highway #16 bypass. RCMP arrived on scene and located the white SUV that was shot at earlier. The driver was arrested for impaired driving. RCMP did not locate any person who had been stabbed.
At approximately 6:00 a.m., RCMP received the report of a silver car parked on Trudeau Street with a male waving around a firearm. RCMP were on scene immediately and attempted to stop the car; however, the vehicle refused to stop. Officers pursued the car for several blocks. The car lost control and was damaged after driving over an embankment.
Two adult male occupants were seen leaving the vehicle and fled on foot. One was arrested and taken into custody quickly. The other male was arrested and taken into custody with the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Section.
At this time, police believe the discharge of firearm was not a random incident and have direct ties to drug trafficking. All suspects involved are in custody and will be remanded to appear in court tomorrow morning. Charges are pending.
