Without any cure, The only mitigating the spread of the disease is separation. Enforcing a separation that leaves us feeling alone. Isolation makes us feel lonely, who would have guessed?
This is analogous to the ways our sins separate us from God. The beauty of this is that sin has a cure in the person of Jesus. Easter sets that truth in the forefront. Jesus Christ died for our sins so that by faith, we are restored to God. His resurrection demonstrates that our separation with God is gone. This is the Easter message: He is with us. He is with us even with this viral outbreak.
Our self-isolation has problems, and people are looking to the day when it is over. I truly am. It is important to remember that God is with us at this time. Our saviour came not to prepare us to die, but to live fully. The first step is being restored to God. Each day after coming to faith in Jesus is a day with God. He does not spread coronavirus. He is with us every day; just pray, and He always hears us. Soon we will all leave this mandatory self-isolation and be able to sit down for a cup of coffee. Easter is a reminder that God has always been there for us because of the sacrifice of Jesus and the resurrection.
