We need to ask God to change our thinking and forgive us so we can receive His peace. Some do not believe there is a devil. Look around us and watch the news. Can we say there is not a devil? Is there not trouble wherever we look? The Bible tells us “Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” The devil was one of God’s angels. God created the angels. The devil, a created being, decided to overthrow God the Creator. God cast him from heaven down to earth (Isaiah 14:12-15). Jesus said in Luke 10:18 “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven”. Each of us has to decide whether we want peace with our eternal God or eternal separation from God. We can ask God for forgiveness. No fancy words needed. No special place. Just where we are now.
We all serve one master – God or the devil. Who can create a sunrise or sunset? Many have painted or photographed the likeness. Who can grow the bones of a baby in a mother’s womb or open the lungs of a new born? The Living Bible tells us in John 1:1-5, “before anything else existed there was Christ with God. He has always been alive and is Himself God. He created everything there is. Nothing exists that He did not make. Eternal life is in Him and this life gives light to all mankind. His life is the light that shines through the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it.” When we believe in God and Jesus Christ there is peace. Our world needs peace. In John 3:23 we read, “Believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another as He loves you.” The god of this age continues to blind the minds of some of God’s creation so they cannot see the light of the gospel.
Our earthly lifespan is very short compared to our eternal life. We prepare for our eternal life throughout our earthly life. 1 John 4:7-8 “God showed us how much He loves us by sending His only Son into this wicked world to bring us eternal life through His death. In this act we see what real love is. It is not our love for God but His love for us when He sent His Son to satisfy God’s anger against our sins.”
Time goes very quickly. It doesn’t matter if we live a long or short life. What matters is that we love God and all others as God loves us. Think what He has to put up within man’s arrogance.
Thank you, God, for your unending Love.
