With all the testimonies given since His life on earth, it is hard to believe that this isn't true. Is the belief of life after death and Jesus alive with us fading? Is it losing its meaning in our lives? If we but take time to reflect on our lives, we can see where Jesus is walking alongside us. This makes me think of "Footprints in the sand," a poem where a man dreams he was walking with the Lord on the beach. He asks why there is only one set of footprints in the sand at the lowest and saddest times of his life. He says, "I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me." The Lord answered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you". Jesus is always there for us.
At this time of significant change in our lives and throughout the world due to COVID-19, I encourage you to pray the Serenity prayer. "God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the Wisdom to know the difference." Let us do what we can to be examples of Jesus, caring for the needs of others, stepping up in whatever capacity we can to alleviate fears and enlist trust in Jesus. Happy Easter.
