Firstly democracy in this country provides all citizens with much more than the right to select those that represent us. The most important right we are free to exercise is the freedom of speech. There are generations of Canadian’s, my father and paternal grandfather included, that fought for this country in conflicts when our freedoms were being challenged. Sadly many lost their lives and are buried in graves on the foreign soil where they were killed. Even more young men returned to resume their lives with varying injuries from PTSD (referred to as shell shock) and physical injuries that ranged from minor to debilitating life altering major injuries.
Bob you need take a step back and examine your own conduct when you make the statement: “the emotional and psychological harm” that my conduct is causing. Look back at what you and the rest of your RPA cohorts inflicted on the council elected in 2016 not to mention the significant, in the neighbourhood of a quarter of a million dollars, cost to the RM for lawyers, auditors and a provincial government review which was all initiated by the allegations, innuendo and other subversive activities that you and the RPA conducted. In the end that colossal waste of money resulted in a statement that there had been no illegal or criminal activities committed by RM council, that there was no money missing and other than a few minor issues council was operating within their authority. To be concise your allegations and innuendo were all false.
Now Bob, for you to suggest that it “must” stop because you say so puts you in the company of Vladimir Putin or Kim Jong-un and many more dictators and despots around the world. We live in a democracy with many rights and freedoms. Perhaps you might want to get a copy of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms so that you can learn exactly what they are.
Well Bob the next item on my list is that you need to stop finding a conspiracy behind anything that negatively impacted you or your friends or things that are said about you that you do not appreciate.
Bob it appears that you have forgotten that you objected that an article you submitted to the LMT had been authored by yourself. Further you complained the LMT would not publish “News Releases” submitted by the RPA. Now had you or any other shiver within the RPA found a spine and taken responsibility for what was in an article or that the RPA was registered as a legitimate organization with a executive members that identified themselves as being responsible for what the RPA presented to be published, you may have actually have been successful in getting published. Freedom of speech/expression, in this country, also comes with the responsibility to identify oneself so that any person can go to the source and verify whether the information contained in an article is true and not simply hearsay, rumour, gossip or just simply a blatant out right lie.
The Cameron’s, neighbours of mine, contacted me about the issue that they were having with the RM and your requirement to get a building permit. I provided them with some advice, as I obviously know UBAS better than any one on council, and then chose to write a letter to the editor on this item.
The permit issue was pretty straight forward and was put together in a couple of hours including the time to call the Ministry to ensure that the RM had not applied and received authority to change the Building Bylaw. So while I appreciate the compliment of this being an “impossibly quick response”, it really was not.
As for making a mountain out of a molehill it is not my doing. This issue is yet part of a mountain that you and council are creating. As I stated in a previous letter you guys are in way over your heads. You misinterpret or simply don’t understand or want to understand many parts of the federal and provincial acts and regulations that govern as well as the municipality’s own bylaws. And even worse make stuff up as you go.
You seem to ignore the fact that if the Cameron’s did what was asked of them council would have been in contravention of the UBAS. The Cameron’s would have spent money for the permit, inspections, engineering costs for the foundation and perhaps the roof design, etc.
Bob just stop with the conspiracies! I am not aware of anyone that has not accepted the legitimacy of the boundary changes or those that have been elected to fill the Reeve and Councillor positions. However, they do not have to like the outcomes, they have the absolute right to express their thoughts, dislikes and grievances.
You obviously feel that inaccurate and irresponsible statements were made by me to incite hatred and harass the staff and council so rather than making meaningless statements without providing specifics, which is part of your usual MO, be specific which statements and let me defend them. Of course you won’t because you know that I did not make any inaccurate or irresponsible statements.
As for staff none of my comments have been directed at staff. This is all about the actions of yourself and council. Staff carries out to the wishes of council. Now Bob if you and council feel hatred and that you are being harassed welcome back to the game that you and your minions demonstrated such a high level of skill and competency while inflicting hatred and harassment towards council when you were private citizens. It was constant barrage of untruths and lies. Bob I challenge you to find any lies in the material I write. And remember in politics being subjected to peoples complaints and grievances are as much a part of the game as fighting is to hockey.
Final comments, I took the high road and left council when it became very obvious that the council was going to be self serving, looking after their friends and seek retribution from past members of council that would not bend to your wishes when you came demanding special treatment when you were private citizens. All of which in my opinion has happened. Had I stayed on council I guess I would have been considered disgruntled by the rest of council as I objected to activities that were not fair to all and in some cases bordering on if not crossing the line into be considered corrupt.
Bob, for the last year or so I had been quite happy to sit back and watch you guys screw up time and time again and then just wrote a single letter to the editor expressing my concern on how my neighbour was being treated by you and council. However, you wrote a letter to the editor, which you had every right to do so under our right to free speech, which was publish even though you were critical of the paper, editor and the local reporter suggesting somehow the LMT was part of some long ongoing conspiracy.
I thank you for that as it was kick in my backside to once again respond to and challenge you and your councils activities which are just plain wrong and certainly in my mind a quiet war on the farm community while milking it for all you can get and then providing subpar services such as that crap you had applied to the roads to provide dust control at approaches to farm residents versus the Cadillac materials applied at the hamlets.
Howard Arndt, Past Reeve of the RM of McKillop
And once again unlike people like our Reeve andDeputy Reeve when the were representing the RPA I will always put my name on the things that I write.
