Nokomis Early Learning Centre annual fundraiser

On Saturday, April 13th, the Nokomis Early Learning Centre will be hosting its annual fundraiser at the Nokomis Centennial Hall. The NELC is a licensed childcare facility, with the ability to care for children from grade school age to as young as six months old. The daycare is an asset to Nokomis, with some families commuting from Strasbourg, Watrous, Drake and Lanigan. According to Julie Mortenson, Chair of the Board of Directors for the NELC, this important local resource would not exist without the support of the community. She also expressed her gratitude for the multitude of generous donations made by local businesses and community members which helped to make this year's fundraising event possible.

In previous years, the money raised by the event was directed to centre renovations, and improvements to the outdoor play area. Mortenson stated that these annual fundraisers and charitable donations "help to keep childcare affordable," within the community and surrounding area.
