Obituary Tony Schmidt

It is with great sadness that the family of Tony Schmidt announce his passing at the age of 62 on January 21, 2024, after a heroic battle with lung cancer.

Tony is survived by his wife Cheryl; sons Terence (Anita) and Derrick (Jen); grandchildren Zach, Teneille (Harvey), Ben, and Ellie; mother Eleonora; siblings Stuart (Patty), Tim (Janine), Fern; brother-in-laws Darren, Brian (Cindy).

Tony was predeceased by his father, Peter; brother, Roger; mother-in-law, Olive; father-in-law, Werner; and sister-in-law, Cindy.

Tony will be remembered for the love he had for his family, especially his grandchildren, toothpicks, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders!

A Memorial Service took place at Nokomis Centennial Hall, Nokomis, SK, on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Shott officiating. A Private Family Interment will take place in Nokomis Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made "In Memory of Tony Schmidt" to the Canadian Lung Association or the Saskatchewan Cancer Foundation.
