Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the RM of Lumsden No. 189 intends to adopt a bylaw under The Planning and Development Act, 2007 to amend Bylaw No. 07-2012, known as the Zoning Bylaw. 

INTENT 
Bylaw No. 2025-09 proposes to amend the Zoning Bylaw by enacting a text amendment to clarify the definition of a “Public Utility” as well as, to add “Public Utility” as a permitted use in the A – Agriculture District.  

REASON
The reason for the amendment is to accommodate a proposed development application to relocate the Ministry of Highways Equipment Storage and Maintenance Buildings from its current location in the Town of Lumsden to a site within the A- Agriculture District in the RM.  

AFFCTED LAND 
Lands within the A – Agriculture District may be potentially affected by the proposed amendment.  

PUBLIC INSPECTION
Any person may inspect the bylaw online at www.rmoflumsden.ca under “Public Notices” or in person at the Lumsden Municipal Office, located at 300 James Street North in Lumsden, between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM (open through the noon hour) from Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Copies are available at cost.   

PUBLIC HEARING
Council will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 8:00 PM in person in Council Chambers at the Lumsden Municipal Office located at 300 James Street North in Lumsden, or virtually via Zoom, to receive submissions, written or verbal, on the proposed bylaw.  Council will also consider written comments received at the hearing or delivered to the municipal office before the hearing.
