Saturday, July 17, 2021
The Nokomis District Museum, along with funding from Sask. Culture Multicultural Initiative Fund and Sask. Lotteries hosted the Dancing Horse Troupe at Last Mountain Regional Park on Treaty Four Territory. The Drumming and Dancing performance by the Dancing Horse Troupe showed up with amazing dancers and beautiful regalia. Harold Littletent, from the Kawacatoose First Nation, shared the history, heritage, and culture around Powwow. Harold and his Dancing Horse Troupe have been performing all over western Canada for several years. We would like to acknowledge Ed Bitternose and company for erecting the teepees and sharing their meaning. Despite the hot weather, approximately 200 people came out to enjoy this event. The performance was enjoyed by all ages.
