-David Mark, Mayor, Town of Nokomis
December 19, 2022
In these season’s greetings, we offer thanks to each and every one here in Town and the surrounding area for their support of our community, businesses and services!
In looking over 2022 we have reached a few milestones as a community. The establishment of Fibre Optics in town in partnership with FlexNetworks and Red Bird has made Nokomis one of the most connected small towns in Canada! We have also seen the final steps in completing the renewal of our Wellhead and Waterline project through the Federal and Provincial support through the CWWF. We have persevered and completed this renewal due to the support of the CWWF and the ratepayers of Nokomis. Our town is now positioned to begin the first steps in renewing our Lagoon in the next few years.
We have also galvanized together to defend our local economy and community in working with the Last Mountain Co-Operative Board to reopen our Agro Centre. The patience and strength we’ve shown standing up for what we need is inspiring.
Your support is the most essential of services and is how we can survive the challenges we face. In helping each other, as the Holiday Season asks, our warm hearts and good cheer help keep our community healthy and vibrant! Enjoy the company of your family and friends over the Holidays and let’s continue into 2023 with renewed resilience.
Thank you to Council and Administration for their dedication and hard work this year.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and have a great New Year!
-Sincerely, David Mark
