“This is a meaningful step in bridging the rural-urban digital divide,” said Carmela Haines, CEO of Access Communications. “The need for high-speed connectivity has never been greater. For many of these communities, the fastest service currently available from other providers is 50 Mbps, the minimum recommended by the CRTC. Our gigabit service, in contrast, is the fastest we offer anywhere in the province. These launches will represent a technological leap for the underserved parts of our province.”
Access launched AccessHyperSpeed 1 Gig services in the following communities:
- Regina Beach
- Biggar
- Canora
- Churchbridge
- Coronach
- Cudworth
- Davidson
- Delisle
- Esterhazy
- Foam Lake
- Gravelbourg
- Grenfell
- Humboldt
- Kerrobert
- Lampman
- Langenburg
- Maple Creek
- Melfort
- Nipawin
- Outlook
- Oxbow
- Rosthern
- Stoughton
- Unity
- Wakaw
With these launches, Access Communications now offers gigabit internet to a total of 43 communities and download speeds of at least 450 Mbps in over 100 communities in Saskatchewan.
