To the RM 220 Reeve and Council,
It is about time that I express my concern on the reporting of our Council Meetings by the Last Mountain Times and the reporter, Jennifer Argue. The articles that have been published, the MTN facebook page and comment over that past year and a half have caused a tremendous amount stress to staff members and has seriously affected their health and welfare. Mental Health in the Municipal Sector is a serious issue.
The most recent article written by Jennifer Argue and published by the Last Mountain Times about Truth and Reconciliation Day was grossly taken out of context. No calls or emails were received from Jennifer Argue for follow-up before she published this piece that clearly shows her bias and opinion of the discussion that took place. If she would have followed-up she would have learned what the RM was planning to do in recognition of the ongoing impact of residential schools on survivors and their families, instead she chose the tell her side of the story. This article in particular incites hate should never have been published by the Last Mountain Times.
This needs to stop.
As the CAO of this RM I feel it is my responsibility to protect staff and their well being by bringing this to your attention.

Chief Administrative Officer
