To the Editor,
We just finished reading Ray Allen’s excellent letter about the Heritage Valley annexation. We are also opposed to this annexation. We look forward to the RM of McKillop’s answers to his questions, all 21 of them! As there was no vote by the ratepayers of Heritage Valley on this, and no information volunteered by our councillor, or the RM office before the letter dated May 9, 2022, it seems very questionable as to how all of this transpired behind the scenes to the point that the RM “intends to restructure” in their first communication about the subject? As ratepayers of Heritage Valley our vote, if we have one, is “NO” to annexation, one level of municipal government is quite enough! And really, shouldn’t this be put to a vote, with reasonable advance notice and voting options so that all Heritage Valley ratepayers can democratically decide if that is what they want?
