Council of the R.M. of Mount Hope No. 279 would like to address and make a couple corrections to two statements made in the recent article, “LTE – No money to build roads – no money for a new shop”.
Wages – The RM is not $100,000.00 over budget in our transportation services wage budget. Every payroll all employee wages are sent to one account the entire year. At year end, the construction workers wages as well as the construction foreman’s wages are then taken from that account and put to a construction wage account. This process is completed during our year end processes.
Shop – As stated in our previous letter, an estimated cost for a new shop according to our engineer is approximately $900,000.00. Yes, there will be inflation in the upcoming year, however this is not going to be a multi-million-dollar shop as has been stated in the article in question.
