Calvin Hoover Harding was born on the Family Farm, NE 36-29-22 W2nd on August 6th, 1929, and died in Kindersley SK on October 29, 2020 at the age of 91 years.
During Dad’s life he was a hard worker and instilled that same drive in his children. He loved to go for drives, checking out the crops, and going to the coffee shop. He loved playing cards, and music was important to him. The radio was always on, and he would sing & yodel. A special memory Dad held dear was going to Hawaii in 1979 with Mom and friends, and he would talk about that lots over the years. In 2005, he received the “Century Farm Award”. This was special for Dad, and he was so proud to have Wayne carry on the family farm. Lately, he had mentioned that the land had been farmed 115 years by the Harding family and it meant the world to him. He was born on the farm, and he made it clear to his children that he wanted to go back there after he died. “I was born on the farm, and when I’m gone, bring me back home to the farm.”
Calvin is survived by his children; Marjorie (Archie) Artymovich, Wayne (Sheila) Harding, and Richard Harding. Grandchildren; Angela (Sean) Edwards, Lana (Clint) Benjamin, Melanie Harding, Clayton (Jenny) Artymovich, great-grandchildren; Jordyn Parker, Hunter, Tanner & Keira Edwards, Bella & Penny Artymovich. He is also survived by sisters Alice French & Jean (Jerry) Langteigne, sister-in-law Ilene Harding, brother-in-laws Wray (Sandy) Lasher, Arden (Gerry) Lasher, as well as many special nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Phyllis (Lasher), infant daughter Carolyn, sisters, brothers & their spouses; Violet & Walter Brooker, Mildred Harding, Hazel & Joe Cowan, Ethel & Ed Kratz, Art & Lila Harding, Grant & Hilda Harding, Garfield Harding, Lee & Jeanette Harding, Emanuel Lasher, Norman French, Elmer & Mona Lasher.
