With profound sadness we announce the passing of Grant Gordon, our loving and devoted father and friend to those who knew him, on March 18, 2022. He left us peacefully at the age of 87, while in the palliative care ward at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, SK, with his wife and family at his side.
Grant is survived by his wife Rose, and 4 children; Rob, Don (Karen), Heather (Darren), and Scott (Sheri), and 6 grandchildren.
Grant and Rose resided in the district of Last Mountain Lake, where they worked the family farm, and raised their 4 children. Grant was a jack-of-all trades, skilled mechanic, wood worker, and handyman. After retiring from CP Rail in Moose Jaw, he took up his hobby of woodworking, making furniture and decorative objects from reclaimed materials. He also enjoyed sharing his knowledge of home maintenance and repair, while assisting his children with many home renovations.
Later in retirement, Grant and Rose settled in Saskatoon to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Dad enjoyed watching Blue Jays baseball, nature television shows, and attending the many large family gatherings during holiday celebrations.
Grant will be missed dearly by his family. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Silton, SK
