- SaskWater was present at the meeting to discuss a proposal to operate the Sun Dale water treatment plant. The proposal includes fully automating monitoring and having a SaskWater operator on call 24/7. No decision was made.
- Administration and Public works provided reports to Council. There was a water leak in Sun Dale over the weekend. New staff has been hired to fill the front desk position and the Finance Officer starts Mar. 1st.
- Administration will contact SARM to request assistance for mediation with the Resort Villages regarding access road maintenance costs. There are 5 resort Villages within McKillop boundaries. RVs are their own municipalities and do not pay any taxes or monies to the RM.
- The gate at the RM lagoon needs servicing for both mechanical and software issues. Administration will investigate costs and options.
- Council agreed to again support the local public library located in Strasbourg for another year.
- Council and Administration will respond to the Ombudsman’s request for feedback regarding a recent draft report and recommendations.
- A subdivision in the organized hamlet of Collingwood was approved. The parcel will be zoned lakeshore residential.
- A subdivision on an ag parcel was approved and will be rezoned by contract to commercial. The subsequent discretionary use application for a campground on the new subdivided parcel was approved subject to a development agreement. The development agreement will include provisions limiting motorized recreational vehicles and development affecting nearby RM hamlets.
- Council decided to increase the rate for mileage to $0.68/km. All other remuneration rates remained the same.
- Representatives from the Fox Point Advisory Committee were present at the meeting to answer questions regarding a proposed reclamation project for the area. The committee received feedback and will relay the information to the committee. The proposal can be found on the RM website. https://rmofmckillop220.com/
- Council discussed 29 resolutions put forward by rural municipalities for the SARM convention. The resolutions guide SARM’s lobbying efforts with the provincial and federal governments.
