This U13AA team is giving our young girls something to work for, something to aspire to and something to believe in. Competitive hockey was once just for the boys. These girls are pushing boundaries and making their mark on the hockey scene, and inspiring others to do the same.
Our U13AA LYNX team was made up of fierce female athletes from the RM and Town of Lumsden, Bethune, Saskatchewan Beach, Nokomis, Semans, Pilot Butte, Davidson and Moosejaw.
They had a reputation in the league as a small but feisty team, being able to hold their own in the corners, put up points and score goals where others couldn’t. They left it all on the ice ending their seasons with 7 wins, 14 losses, 5 ties and two players as top-ten scoring leaders in the league.
A few season highlights included a zoom session with the entire LBMHA LYNX Female Program and Team Canada Capitan Marie Philip Poulin and participating in “WickFest,” a tournament hosted by Saskatchewan’s own Hayley Wickenheiser. Alongside playing hockey against a number of Western Canadian teams, they also took part in off-ice sessions and got to spend a day in a professional dressing room with Hayley as a guest coach!

Opportunities like this not only create memories but friendships that will last a lifetime—hats off to the coaches for continuing to inspire and push excellence on and off the ice.
We couldn’t be happier with the recent news announcing two more competitive teams to the LYNX Squad, a U15AA and U22 team.
