Semans Affinity CU closure info session

Mark Lane, CEO, presented a slide show and answered some tough questions from a crowd of about 35 concerned community members regarding recent closure announcement.

On the evening of Wednesday, March 15th, Affinity Credit Union held a community meeting at the Semans school gym after it was announced that the Semans location would be closing its doors on June 30, 2023.

Today, over 85% of bank transactions are now done digitally through online or mobile banking. Some of the members feel that they are being left behind as they haven’t yet made the transition to digital banking. They stated that they would miss coming into the advice centre to do their banking in person and chatting with the staff. Other members were concerned about the Village of Semans losing another main business and described it as another nail in the coffin.

The Semans Drop-In Club provided coffee and a variety of dainties.
