Its A-frame rear wall is adorned with windows stacked three high, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the sea, lake, mountains, or any other natural landscape.
This home plan is economical to build, heat, and maintain. With a footprint that measures only 31 feet wide and 38 feet deep, including the porches, it is highly efficient. The exterior features clean-lined batt and boards, while sleek twin columns support the covered porches at both the front and side.
Inside, a lofty, two-story vaulted ceiling enhances the expansive sense of openness in the great room. Warmth radiates from the traditional wood stove, perfect for drying damp clothing and warming icy fingers and toes. For added ambiance, owners can opt for a stove with a glass front to enjoy the soothing sight of multicolored flames and dancing shadows.
Despite the home's compact size, the kitchen is relatively large. It includes a spacious walk-in pantry and ample counter space. A raised conversation bar rims the outer edge of the angled peninsula, providing a cozy spot to sit and soak up heat from the wood stove while chatting with those in the kitchen and savoring the delightful cooking aromas.
Storage closets line the hallway that leads to the front porch, bathroom, and combination utility/hobby room. Laundry appliances are tucked behind folding doors, allowing this space to double as a guest room when needed.
The sleeping area in the Arnett's owner's suite can be either an open-ended loft or partitioned off behind the landing for added privacy. The owner's bathroom features a luxurious spa tub, offering a perfect retreat after a day of adventure.
