Theft of motorhome, firearms and ammunition recovered in Regina Beach

A motorhome was taken by a 46-year-old male without the consent of the owner, along with a firearm and ammunition.

Around 5:30 p.m., April 19, the motorhome was located at a residence on Woodland Crescent in Regina Beach. Lumsden and Southey RCMP Detachments, along with RCMP Police Dog Services and Regina Police Service Combined Traffic Services responded and contained the area. Regina Police Service Aerial Support Unit also responded.

While this incident was unfolding, police officers asked residents of the area to stay indoors and additional police officers were required to help keep the gathering public back from the immediate area due to safety concerns, especially given the firearm theft reported.

Police officers approached the stolen motorhome and arrested the adult male and an adult female inside without incident.

Two firearms and loaded magazines were located during a subsequent search of the motorhome. A search warrant was executed at the residence on Woodland Crescent where police located a further three firearms with loaded magazines, a baton and knife.

As a result of investigation, 46-year-old Jackson Bishop of Regina Beach, SK, is charged with:

  • 3 counts, contravention of firearm regulations, section 86(2) of the Criminal Code
  • 1 count, possession of a restricted firearm at an unauthorized place, section 93 of the Criminal Code
  • 1 count, unauthorized transportation of a prohibited firearm, section 94 of the Criminal Code
  • Two counts, possession of a prohibited weapon section 91(2) of the Criminal Code

Bishop is also charged with 1 count, mischief under $5,000.00, section 430(4) of the Criminal Code in relation to an attempted ATM break-in at a business in Regina Beach on April 18.

He will appear in Regina Provincial Court on May 21 at 9:30 a.m. The adult female was released without charges.
