Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Lumsden intends to adopt a bylaw under The Planning and Development Act, 2007 to amend Bylaw No. 14-2002, known as the Official Community Plan 

INTENT 

The intent of the amendment is to establish guidelines for the use of Contract Zoning in the Official Community Plan.   The proposed guidelines will ensure that the Town’s process regarding the use of Contract Zoning is handled in a consistent manner while reflecting the long-term goals of the municipality.

AFFECTED LANDS 

All lands within the Town may be affected by the proposed amendment.  

REASON

The reason for the amendment is to establish guidelines for the use of Contract Zoning, to ensure consistency with section 69(1) of The Planning and Development Act, 2007. 

INSPECTION

Any person may inspect the bylaw online at www.lumsden.ca or at the Lumsden Municipal Office, located at 300 James Street North, in the Town of Lumsden, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM (open through the noon hour) from Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.  Copies are available at cost.  

PUBLIC HEARING

Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 7:30pm, in Council Chambers at the Lumsden Municipal Office located at 300 James Street North and via Zoom Videoconference, to hear any person or group that wants to comment on the proposed bylaw. Council will also consider written comments received or delivered to the municipal office prior to the hearing.
