Town of Lumsden - Bylaw Amendment

Public Notice

Public Notice

Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Lumsden intends to adopt a bylaw under The Planning and Development Act, 2007 to amend Bylaw No. 15-2002, known as the Zoning Bylaw.

Intent

Bylaw No. 2024-16 proposes to enhance the public notice procedures for zoning bylaw amendments by providing written notice by regular mail to assessed owners of property within a one hundred (100) metre radius of the land proposed for rezoning, a minimum of fourteen (14) days prior to the public hearing.  As well as requiring a notification sign to be erected on the land proposed for rezoning.

Affected Lands

All lands within the Town may be affected by the proposed amendment to the zoning bylaw.

Reason

The reason for the amendment is to enhance public notice requirements on rezoning applications to better inform the public of zoning changes within the community.
